Student Visit to Joyce Centre
The Student Committee is elected every two years and organizes a range of activities for the students as well as helping out with organization of the college. In addition to the usual events - the Christmas Party (Thursday 12th December this year) and the Students Annual General Meeting, it will organize a range of educational, social and cultural activities during the year, including visits to sites and exhibitions of topical interest and conferences and work-shops on key current issues.
During the year it organized events at the week-ends: a Tour of the 1916 Mount Street Battle Site, the Botanic Gardens, a first walking tour of 1913 Lock Out sites and a visit to Bully’s Acre, the oldest graveyard in Dublin. Of particular significance this year will be remembering the 1913 Lockout – lectures, events and further tours of the relevant sites will be organized. Information about these and there events will be circulated in classes, on the website & facebook.
