The INTO was founded in 1868 and is the largest teachers' trade union in Ireland. It represents teachers at primary level in the Republic of Ireland and at primary and post-primary level in Northern Ireland. The Transport Salaried Staffs' Association has had members in Ireland since the late 1890s; our first branch was formed in Belfast in November 1904.

We represent salaried staff in many different undertakings, and TSSA's affairs are managed by an Irish Committee, elected by the entire membership in the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland.
